Ambenonium is a Cholinergic Agonist (Indirect acting/ Anti-cholinesterase agent Reversible), used to in chronic management of myasthenia gravis. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Directions for use

  • Take ambenonium by mouth with or without food; If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation or as directed by your doctor.

Side effects : Adverse effects of Ambenonium include those of generalized cholinergic stimulation, such as

  • Salivation,
  • Flushing,
  • Decreased blood pressure,
  • Nausea,
  • Abdominal pain,
  • Diarrhea, and
  • Bronchospasm.

  • Contraindicated if you are allergic to any ingredient in ambenoniumCl.
  • Do not use AmbenoniumCl if you are taking quinine, quinidine, atropine, belladonna, ganglionic blocking agents (eg, mecamylamine), or cholinergic agents (eg, guanidine).
